Ophelia Mentees

Girls participating in the Ophelia Project Program are called “Mentees”. Mentees are female students, in a school that hosts an Ophelia Project Program, who have the potential to benefit from the following: Focused attention and support from an adult, female, Mentor; Participation in a peer group discussion environment where a “safe zone” is created in which to share thoughts, feelings and goal setting for the future; Exposure to self-esteem building, self-awareness and empowerment related topic content.

Ophelia girls stay in school rather than dropping out; their grades improve; they graduate from high school and desire to go on to college! Ophelia Project in Coachella Valley has a 100% graduation rate!

Ophelia Ambassadors

The Ambassador Student Leadership Team is a group comprised of juniors and seniors from High Schools that support an Ophelia Project Program in their school. Ambassadors are Ophelia Girls in good academic standing with a minimum of 2 years participation in the program, who strive to maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher and who model consistent attendance and leadership in their sessions. Ambassadors are representatives of the Ophelia Project at various Ophelia Community events across the Coachella Valley.
